This sampler has been designed using shapes, people, animals and flowers associated with the castle. The first band is a pattern taken from a design on one of the ceilings.  Band three is a flower shape taken from one of the windows.  The fourth band is a border round one of the fireplace tiles.  

The owls just had to be included because Muncaster Castle is the world centre for owls.  Tom Fool is also a very important part of the castle's history.  All of this information is included in the kit.

The sampler measures 9" x 13 1/4" (23cms x 33 1/2cms) when worked on 32 count linen.
