The Orphanage Sampler - Rosina Wedlake

The original of this sampler is in the George Müller Charitable Trust Museum in Bristol, England. 

The chart kit contains information about Rosina Wedlake obtained from the records at the museum.  It also contains interesting facts about life in the orphanage.  

The year date on the sampler, beside ' July 28th' is not the date of the sampler because Rosina's birth date is later than that.   It is probably her bed number.  Each child was given a bed number and every piece of their property had this number on it.  This meant that if anything was lost then found it was returned to that bed number.

The kit includes a copy of the Needlework Syllabus and other illustrations relating to life in the Orphanage.
