Yeoman of the Guard

This is a Stumpwork figure dressed in the traditional "Yeoman of the Guard" costume. The backgroung has a portcullis gate painted onto the calico backgrounf with coloured pencils.  The red, black and yellow costume has tiny medals and gold embroidered buckle.  he has a ruff at his neck and a black boater style hat.  He is also carrying a staff.  These guards can still be seen today at the Tower of London and also on special ceremonial occasions in London. The figure measures approximately three inches.
