With ordinary cotton, make 5 straight stitches onto a piece of material.
Fasten off.
Thread a length of thread under these stitches for approx. 4 winds.
Now work a Blanket stitch over these threads using the same length of thread.
When you have completed the circle, take the needle into the first small loop at the edge of the first stitch.
Cut those first stitches made with ordinary cotton and the Couronne will lift off.

The Couronne can be used to add interest to a piece of work .
You can also make different sizes ( the centre space denotes the size) and arrange as a tall flower stalk , or make them all the same size and arrange in a circle.
